The Philippine government has apprehended Filipino nationals found to be allegedly engaged in espionage activities on behalf of China, according the state’s security agency.
“Government authorities have uncovered a serious national security matter involving espionage and foreign-directed malign activities in the country linked to the People’s Republic of China,” the National Security Council said in a statement on Wednesday.
