Robinhood Event Contracts Payout: Timing & Profit Math
On this page

A Robinhood event-contract payout is different from profit and from money available to withdraw. Start by checking whether the contract has resolved, whether the payout appears in account history and whether the proceeds are available for the action you want to take.

Robinhood's official settlement guide, checked October 6, 2026, says proceeds are generally withdrawable within one business day after settlement. Weekends and holidays can extend processing. This is typical timing, not a promise for every event.

Find the contract payout

In Robinhood, open Account → History and filter by Event contracts. The payout entry helps confirm resolution and processed proceeds. The event's Timeline separately shows trading hours, event day, resolution and expected payout. Use those labels rather than measuring the wait only from the end of a game.

QuestionEvidence to check
Has the event resolved? The exact contract status and terms
Did my account receive a payout? The event-contract history entry
Can I use or withdraw the proceeds? The available balance for that action
Did I make a profit?Proceeds minus acquisition cost and fees

Calculate payout and profit separately

Imagine buying 100 contracts at 62¢ and paying another $2 in total costs. Your cash outlay is $64. Assume this particular contract has a standard $1 winning payout and a $0 losing payout.

OutcomeGross settlement proceedsNet result against $64 cost
Win$100+$36
Lose$0−$64

These independent, hypothetical figures are not Robinhood's fee schedule or a real trade. A $100 history entry does not mean $100 in profit. Replace the example's price, quantity and costs with your actual fills and ledger entries before calculating your result.

For multiple purchases, add the acquisition costs across all fills. If you sold part of the position before settlement, keep those sale proceeds separate from the remaining contracts' settlement payout. Avoid counting the same proceeds twice when reconciling cash.

Why the outcome can take longer

Settlement requires official verification. The offering exchange sets the contract's rules; review the terms under About, including the designated source. A report from a different source does not establish the contract's result. Robinhood notes that some events take longer than others.

Keep a short record: exact contract, held side, quantity, event date, resolution rule, payout entry and observation time. This separates a pending result from an account-availability question and makes a support request more useful.

Check nonstandard outcomes in the rules

Do not apply the $1/$0 example to every cancellation, tie or player absence. Robinhood's contract guide describes possible nonstandard treatment. The exact contract terms govern the result.

A useful scenario table lists each allowed outcome and the payout per contract. Multiply by your held quantity and then compare with your actual cost. A generic sports result such as “the game was canceled” is not enough to calculate your proceeds without the contract's cancellation provision.

If proceeds are still unavailable

Robinhood says to check event-contract history if funds remain unavailable after two business days. Confirm the settlement date before counting that window. Record any error and which action is unavailable, then use Robinhood's support flow with those details.

Contract: [name]. Settlement entry: [date and amount]. Action unavailable: [withdrawal or intended use]. Current available balance: [amount]. I reviewed event-contract history at [time]. Could you check the proceeds' availability?

Do not put account credentials or private financial details into a public comment. The template is for your own support conversation, not a request for Alphascope to access your brokerage account.

Keep venue workflows separate

For contracts held directly on Kalshi, use the Kalshi settlement guide. For platform differences, read Kalshi versus Robinhood predictions. Alphascope's research interface helps investigate markets; Robinhood remains the place to inspect your account's payout and withdrawal status.
