How to Withdraw from Kalshi: Methods, Holds & Timing
On this page

To withdraw from Kalshi, check the available amount and choose an eligible destination in the account's withdrawal flow. A displayed portfolio value is not necessarily cash you can send out. Deposit settlement, holds, positions and the selected account type can affect what is available.

Reviewed October 6, 2026 against the official payout and balance help linked below. The walkthrough is documentation-based, not a completed account withdrawal. Limits, available methods and timing can vary; use the current quote and availability shown for your account.

Start with available cash, not total portfolio value

The Security Holds guide points to the withdrawal screen for each deposit's availability time. Its table allows up to two days after settlement for debit/ACH deposits withdrawn to a different method. It also distinguishes deposited amounts from settled earnings, and excludes money in open positions from available withdrawals.

Use the portfolio-versus-cash guide to interpret the displayed categories. For a fictional account showing $240 total value, $90 could be in positions and $150 in cash. That does not establish that all $150 is currently withdrawable; read the account's eligible amount rather than subtracting one headline number from another and assuming the result is available.

Canceling an open order and selling a position are different actions. Reviewing a balance does not require closing every trade. Identify which funds are restricted and why before deciding whether to change a position.

How to take money out of a predictions account

Kalshi's bank-withdrawal instructions use Transfers, then Withdraw from Kalshi, followed by Bank Transfer and the selected linked bank. The card and crypto pages follow the same opening flow with their respective method choices.

  1. Open the appropriate account and review its eligible withdrawal amount.
  2. Open Transfers and the withdrawal flow described for your method.
  3. Choose a supported destination and confirm that its details are current.
  4. Review the amount, method, fees, limits and any verification requirement.
  5. When you decide to submit, save the confirmation, reference and status.
  6. Reconcile the destination receipt with the request rather than treating submission as arrival.

These steps describe what to review. They do not establish that your account is eligible, that a payout will succeed, or that the app uses identical labels in every release.

Kalshi withdrawal methods and typical timing

MethodDocumented timingConditions to check
Bank / ACHA few business daysUS account, eligible linked bank and any deposit hold
Debit cardTypically a few hours; issuer timing can differSupported card, account limit and processor/issuer restrictions
CryptoTypically within 30 minutesPrior crypto deposit, supported destination and possible document verification

These figures come from the bank, card and crypto pages. They are typical processing descriptions, not arrival guarantees for an individual request.

The card help page also mentions PayPal/Venmo for eligible users and wires for very large amounts. Confirm a method's actual availability and current instructions instead of treating a general alternatives list as approval for your account. Cash App is deposits-only, not a withdrawal destination.

Bank withdrawals: check eligibility and destination

Kalshi's bank page lists no bank-withdrawal fee and limits this method to US users. If the destination is closed or inactive, the receiving institution can use the amount, date and trace/reference to locate the payment. If it cannot complete, the funds return to the Kalshi balance.

A pending request, a returned request and a payment missing from the receiving account are different states. Record both the venue status and the bank's response before choosing a next step.

Debit withdrawals: issuer and processor constraints

The card page lists no debit-withdrawal fee. It describes personalized daily limits, unsupported cards or regions, issuer declines and processor reviews that can temporarily restrict the method. Reviews are described as typically three to five business days; this is distinct from the normal payout-arrival estimate.

A declined request does not prove a platform-wide outage. Check the actual error, venue status and issuer notification. A confirmation that funds returned to the account is also different from a successful payout to the card.

Crypto withdrawals: verify prerequisites

The crypto page requires a prior crypto deposit and notes possible document verification. It lists no crypto-withdrawal fee at review and distinguishes US processing through Zero Hash from a separate international provider. Follow the selected flow for the correct asset, network and destination.

Do not assume an old wallet address or another network is compatible. Save the destination and transaction reference needed to trace the payout, without exposing private wallet keys. A quoted venue fee should not be interpreted as a universal promise about every external provider or network cost.

Perps balance: distinguish transfer from bank payout

The margin-account guide describes a separate account accessed through Portfolio. The perps balance troubleshooting page explains that positions, resting orders, unsettled cash and promotional credit can restrict available funds.

That troubleshooting page describes transferring settled funds to the predictions balance before the bank-withdrawal process. It says settlement after closing a position typically completes within 24 hours. Verify the selected source account and destination in the current interface: transferring to another Kalshi account balance is different from sending money to a bank.

A total perps balance is not proof of transferable cash. Preserve the account type, amount, recent position-close time and exact error if the eligible figure seems inconsistent. Do not apply a predictions payout flow or limit automatically to a margin-account transfer.

Withdrawal fees, minimums and limits

The method pages list no venue fee for the bank, debit and crypto payouts described above. Check the current method quote and destination terms. Fee-free and unlimited are different claims: the card documentation describes a personalized daily limit, and account eligibility still matters.

Use the displayed minimum and maximum for your actual request. This guide does not assert a universal minimum, maximum or withdrawal frequency. A small residual margin-account balance can need a different resolution from a standard bank payout; follow the applicable help page.

If your Kalshi withdrawal is pending or unavailable

  1. Record the account type, method, amount, request time and reference.
  2. Check the eligible amount and any deposit availability time.
  3. Distinguish cash, positions, resting orders, promotional credit and unsettled funds.
  4. Compare the request status with the receiving provider's records.
  5. Use the method-specific help for a decline, return, verification request or unsupported destination.
  6. Ask a focused question through the official support route if the records do not explain the state.

For a recent funding issue, see the deposit guide. For a possible broader interruption, the status tool offers context; a single pending payout is not evidence of an exchange-wide incident. Keep credentials and authentication codes out of support reports.
